DISTRICT TROPHIES - AN OVERVIEW

A. DISTRICT TROPHY REGULATIONS
The following regulations shall govern the award of all District Trophies,
- All trophies shall be contested from 1st July to 31st March.
- The District Governor shall inform all clubs of the district trophies and their criteria at the beginning of the Rotary year.
- The District Secretary shall invite applications for all district trophies from all clubs with details of the criteria no later than 15th March.
- Clubs must submit applications for the trophies with all relevant information, no later than 7 days prior to the District Conference, in writing, signed by the clubs president and secretary, and sent to the District Governor with copy to the District Secretary.
- Clubs that have been “suspended” or “terminated” by RI, or who are in arrears with district dues, shall not be eligible for any district trophy.
- The District Governor, District Secretary and the Conference Committee Chair shall keep a record of the winners of all the trophies and the list shall be appended to the Conference report
B. DISTRICT TROPHIES
1. ATTENDENCE TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the club with the best annual average attendance of all members in accordance with the club’s Constitution & Byelaws.
2. MEMBERSHIP TROPY
Criteria: To be presented to the club with highest net percentage increase in membership.
3. CONFRENCE ATTENDENCE SHIELD
Criteria: To be presented to the club with the highest attendance or Rotarians at the District Conference by distance travelled, Local clubs are not eligible. The distance travelled shall be calculated as the shortest distance “as the crow flies”.
4. VOCATIONAL SERVICE TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Club that has excelled in Vocational Service through the pursuit of high ethical standards, recognition of all worthy occupations and contributing ones vocational talents to serve society. The Club must have undertaken several vocational service activities and must have participated in the annual programmes of Rotary International on Vocational Service.
5. COMMUNITY SERVICE TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Club that has carried out the best Community Service Project that is clearly focused on the concerns and basic needs of the community. The project must address the issues and concerns identified by RI as recommended service priorities known as the Menu of Service Opportunities.
6. INTERNATIONAL SERVICE TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Club that has excelled in the development of international understanding and good will through Rotary’s programmes on International Service. The Club must have participated in World Community Service by establishing international contacts with Rotary Clubs overseas. The club shall have undertaken activities that comply with the annual programmes of Rotary International on international Service.
7. ROTARACT TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Rotaract club that has carried out a balanced Programme of activities related to personal development, social needs of their community, and promoted international relations. The Club shall have lived up to its motto of “Fellowship through Service”
8. INTERACT TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Interact Club that has excelled in providing an opportunity for its members to work together in a world fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding. A high standard of club leadership is desirable as well as participation in District and International Conferences.
9. CLUB BULLETIN TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Club that has regularly produced a Club Bulletin that is both interesting and informative on Rotary matters. Preference shall be given for publishing a weekly bulletin that has improved attendance. Promoted fellowship, and contributed towards Rotary education, and has disseminated Rotary international news.
10. YOUTH SERVICE TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Club that has performed a Youth Service Project that has addressed the important needs of the community related to young person. The project must have focused on the rights of children, children at risk, youth with disabilities and other youth problems, and shall have involved Rotaract and or Interact Clubs where possible
11. ROTARY FOUNDATION TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Club with the best all round performance in the programmes of Rotary Foundation. The club shall have contributed to world understanding and peace through local, national and international humanitarian, educational and cultural programmes of the Rotary Foundation. The Club’s contribution to the Annual Programs Fund, Permanent Fund, and other special funds during the year shall be important criteria.
12. HUNDRED PERCENT ATTENDANCE TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Club that has the highest number of members with 100 percent attendance in compliance with the attendance regulations as specified in the club’s Constitution and Byelaws.
13. MEMBERSHIP EXTENSION TROPHY
Criteria: To be presented to the Club that has made the most noteworthy contribution to membership extension through formation of new Rotary Clubs in this district.
